The Art Institute of Chicago, regularly has extraordinary photographic exhibitions. This exhibition, Chicago Cabinet: C. D. Arnold Photographs of the World's Columbian Exposition is a great example of a wonderful photographer of the late 19th century and shows an important time in the history of the United States.This exhibition will run through February 28, 2010
The exhibition features highlights from the Ryerson Library’s archive of large platinum prints made by C. D. Arnold, the official photographer of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. The Chicago World’s Fair, as it is also known, attracted some 27 million people, or nearly half the population of the United States, to the city during its six-month run. Arnold’s photographic project, begun two years earlier and completed in 1894, traces the fair’s development, particularly the architectural concept put in place by Daniel H. Burnham, who is perhaps best known for his 1909 Plan of Chicago.
If you’re in the Chicago area before this exhibition leaves, I strongly suggest you take it in. I will definitely be seeing it during my next visit to Chicago.

Very informative post. Chicago is the 3rd largest city in United States. It was modern paintings that attracted me to the Art Institute in Chicago. It is second largest museum after Metropolitan Museum in New York.The museum is connected with School of arts institute of Chicago.
