You still have a fairly bright sky, but it no longer particularly lights the ground, or the wildlife on the ground or even in the air.<br /><br />If you exposed the photo to see the details of the bird, the sky would have been white; overexposed.<br /><br />What's happening here is the dynamic range of the scene is Ned S.
