Photography Exhibition: Philadelphia Photo Arts Center: Daydream Nation

Daydream NationThe Philadelphia Photo Arts Center is devoted to the study, practice, and appreciation of photography in the Philadelphia region, through educational programs, photographic exhibitions, lectures by practicing artists, and affordable access to high-end digital equipment for the creation of photographs. Its photographic exhibitions like Daydream Nation are imaginative and innovative, and are producing some of the best exhibitions of contemporary photography in the US.

The exhibition will run through August 21, 2010.

The title refers to photography’s ability to project emotions and dreams of the maker and to interrogate experiences of either fantasy or truth. The photograph is the realization of that daydream. This exhibition brings together a stunning group of unique photographers. The subject matters and genres are all varied, but each image shares a subtle underlying mystique. Exhibiting a strong juxtaposition of black and white and color photographs, this exhibition will be sure to leave an impression in the viewer’s mind.
If you’re in the Philadelphia, PA area, I strongly recommend visiting this exhibition.
As I travel, I love seeing the work of other photographers as I hope you do. If you know of a new photographic exhibition which you think the Blog should publicize, please contact me.
